Fuhrer Hilmar is here to stay, sadly.
Same with Dust; I reckon they're pushing harder and harder to get Dust out ASAP, and it will likely be released with bugs galore.
The CSM will always be a PR stunt. CCP refuses to give them any more say than that, and after giving each member an all expenses paid trip to Iceland, it's no wonder how easy it is to sway the delegates' opinions. Also, as long as there's an NDA I'm not buying anything the CSM tries to say.

Originally by: diaufop If the CSM were to, for example, decide they were used as a PR stunt and that CCP will be rolling in pay-to-win against the player's wishes, all they'd really need to do is to post on the forums exactly that, publicly resign and unsubscribe from the game, and encourage everyone else to do so as well.
CSM are bound by a nondisclosure agreement. If they did this, the CSM could be legally held liable for any damages that resulted to CCP.
Hence everyone keeps saying the CSM ought not have the NDA... give us some ****ing transparency for once.

lol. LOL. lol.
I can't ev- lol.
Yeah, this game is doomed.
Edit: Unless you're serious, and mean the CSM literally goes on a shooting spree in Iceland and does a hostile takeover of CCP. That has a higher chance of working.

Originally by: Azelor Delaria If at the end of this The Mittani comes back and says to Goons, "I'm gone", it's probably going to end up with a large power bloc leaving the game. He doesn't have to say anything about the meeting, and in fact probably has already told his alliance if he comes back and says he's gone, assume the worst.
Read sins of a solar spymaster 63 which he posted yesterday. He's taking CCP's side from what I can tell. In it he admits their many faults, but gives them the benefit of the doubt. He goes into all of the issues and understands the severity of the issues, but ends the blog saying Incarna will eventually be a success.
Anyone with analytical intuition can tell he's spinning the blog to be pro-CCP. Or at least trying to keep the reader's mind open to forgiving CCP.

Originally by: Azelor Delaria My point was that -0 hypothetically - if after this The Mittani comes back and says "I'm gone" to Goons and doesn't violate the NDA, will CCP attempt to hold him and the other members of the CSM who resign/quit the game responsible for losses?
Ah, gotcha. They could try all they want, but if he doesn't break the NDA then they can't do much to him over it.

I think it's about migratory patterns of the Brown Bear in heat.

FTFY. And I agree with your post wholeheartedly. Problem is, they'll get the SOE reputation in a hurry by treating players like that... who's going to buy an MMO by SOE these days, even if it looks great? Eve is/was big enough that the downfall of it alone will give them a permanent bad reputation in the gaming world.
The PR blunders we've seen have given us a true look at who CCP is, and what they want from players... be it Eve players, Dust players, or WoD players. They're going to rely on Eve because they're going to rely on Dust, so I'm betting we'll continue to see this sort of 'bare minimum' we've been seeing on expansions, bug fixes, PR, etc.
The simple analogy is CCP is trying to run before they can walk. They really only have the resources to develop 1 game at a time, and are trying to do 3. They can't afford it in any way (they are failing on budget, time, and quality as a company).

That's OK... Null sec is so screwed up right now that nobody but botters will be living there by the time they roll out Dust. I can't wait for Dust players to spend $10 just to blow up a hulk, because there will be nothing else to shoot.
I **** you not, living in empire and running level 4 missions is more profitable than living in places like Cloud Ring, especially after the agent quality change.

Wow, I must have missed that before. The way I'm reading this, CCP intends to have Dust simply become the RMT way to claim space in nullsec, and current residents are either going to have to have a serious involvement in Dust or gtfo.

Originally by: Maeleos Strom If this is so, although an exciting concept that adds a bit more depth to the game itself. Although it does deviate from the actual game of flying space ships and pew pew. But it is a good idea to have dust have an effect on certain parts of eve....ONLY if EVERYONE can play as the ground forces at will, none of this consol only crap. because not everyone has a ps3....
They're only releasing dust on PS3. If you can't afford a PS3, CCP isn't going to care anyways... Dust is going to be hardcore MT, so unless you're rich you're not their target demographic.

They're probably under strict gag orders until CCP crunches numbers on losses from accounts leaving vs. potential sales from MT.

Not as long as CCP ignores it.
If they were hoping we'd all just kind of forget about it, they are going to be a tad disappointed.

A 'whistle blower' by legal terms is somebody who uncovers a company/organization's history or intent of legal wrongdoing. You can't break a NDA just because you're unhappy with them.

Don't panic :P People aren't being banned for just voicing their opinion. Well, not anymore... there were those few key figures at the beginning (Helicity Boson, Angel Hun, a few others), but I think CCP realized trying to ban everyone that was angry with them would leave only them and a bunch of monocle-wearing trolls on the forums.

What part of any of this, even taking the most aggressive anti-CCP stance possible, is illegal?
You missed the point, Ranger. Mech was referring to someone on the CSM leaking their info anonymously. You know, without revealing their identity. So CCP couldn't pursue them for breaking the NDA.
Problem is, they'd have to be pretty cunning. There are only a handful of CSM delegates, and CCP will surely know where the leak came from.

Ok, NEX is to stay as seen from this tweet, you just lost a subscriber, bye.
All that really says is 'we are talking about how CCP came to their prices.' I don't see how that implies the NeX is there to stay (though it probably is).

Does it seriously take an entire day to discuss non vanity items? No. **** no. The MT business model is used by games without a sub fee. Why would anyone pay a sub fee for a game that also requires MT to remain competitive?
